Das Festival
In diesem Jahr geht das Filmfest Dresden zum 19. Mal an den Start. Das Festival rückt eine in Kino und Fernsehen häufig vernachlässigte Gattung, den Kurzfilm, in den Mittelpunkt des filmischen Engagements. Seit seinem Beginn im Jahre 1989 hat sich das Festival zu einem der wichtigsten Kurzfilmfestivals Deutschlands und in diesem Jahr sogar zum höchstdotierten Europas entwickelt.

In this year Filmfest Dresden enters its 19th year. Focusing on short films, the festival promotes a film category which is mostly disregarded by cinemas and television. Since its beginning in 1989, Filmfest Dresden has developed into one of the major short film festivals in Germany - and with a total amount of € 56.500 the best funded short film competitions across Europe!
